The BCA’s aim or purpose, is
defined by its constitution / articles of association as : –
Improving the conditions of life of all the inhabitants of Barton
and surrounding area, by working together with local people and statutory
authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort
to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of
social welfare and leisure time occupation.

Barton is defined as the area of Oxford including all residences,
non-residences, roads and green spaces leading off from that part
of the Bayswater Road, which runs from Headington Roundabout
to the Bayswater Bridge. Barton is bounded by south Oxfordshire to
the north, Northway to the southwest, Risinghurst to the south and
Sandhills to the East
